Our Application Process Explained
We aim to make the application process easy. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
To learn more about the process, scroll through the steps below.
1. Come Visit Us.
While the School remains closed to guests, come visit us virtually! We have student-led small group tours, a virtual 360 tour, open houses, and weekly admissions chats. Fill out an inquiry form to learn more or register for these opportunities!
2. Apply by the Deadline.
Applications will be accepted in the fall of the year prior to the desired year of entry. This year's application deadline is Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Late applications will be accepted based on available space.
3. Provide Documents.
Please provide the following documents along with the application: a recent photo of the applicant; the applicant’s final reports from the past three years and any reports from the current year; a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport; education assessment(s) or IEP(s), if applicable; the non-refundable application fee of $250. You will be able to access the portal repeatedly to upload these documents.
4. Have a Personal Interview.
Families will be contacted to schedule an online interview after we receive all the required documents, excluding reports from this year that have yet to be released. Formal interview preparation is not encouraged. Junior School applicants will be interviewed with their parents. Upper School applicants begin with a one-on-one interview before parents are invited to join.
5. Write the Entrance Assessments.
(Grades 1 - 6)
Applicants will be required to complete an assessment. More information will be forthcoming in the Fall. For the 2020-2021 Admissions Season, assessments will most likely be online.
6. Write the Entrance Assessments.
(Grades 7-12)
Applicants must write the Secondary Schools Admissions Test (SSAT) and complete the Character Skills Snapshot, through SSAT. Families are required to register online at ssat.org. The SSAT may be written anytime up until the end of January. Please ensure that St. Clement's School is selected as a score recipient when registering. For the 2020-2021 Admissions Season the SSAT is available to be taken at home or Prometric Test Centres.
7. Receive Your Offer.
Families will be notified of our decisions on Friday, February 26, 2021. Enrolment contracts must be returned by Wednesday, March 3, 2021. The Toronto Consortium of Independent Schools is a collective of admissions professionals at Branksome Hall, BSS, Crescent, Greenwood, Havergal, RSGC, SCS, UCC, and UTS. Member schools have collaborated to require a common application deadline and a common decision day in an effort to support and assist applicant families.

"Every day, the younger students remind me to take life slowly and enjoy being a kid. The older students are my guide to how I should balance my work and make decisions for the future."
"You meet girls of all ages at SCS, not just Grades 1-6. At assemblies you hear about what they've done, like the Grade 12s and what they remember about their time at SCS. You get excited about what you're going to do in the coming years."
"There are so many girls to play with. When the older girls join us on the playground it makes me really happy."
"It's like being a part of a mosaic where everyone is a unique piece. We're all different ages, but our different learning experiences and perspectives allow us to teach each other new things."
"It's nice to see students of different ages sharing their opinions with one another. The students here are open to new ideas, and I love being a part of a small community where I am known."
