Earlier this week, the Parents’ Association hosted their semi-annual Used Uniform Sale! A big thank you to everyone who supported this important PA initiative by donating uniform pieces, and by shopping and volunteering at the sale.

Members of the Junior School Outdoor Club have been cultivating handy skills! In two of their most recent meetings, club members in Grades 1-3 learned to set up tents and build tarp shelters. 🏕️

The Grade 10 class travelled to Stratford earlier this week to take in a stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, Sense and Sensibility.

Primary students start each day focused on developing their literacy skills! Grades 1 and 2 separate into small groups based on current reading and writing skills, and work one-on-one and in pairs with the goal of building exceptionally strong literacy foundations. (It’s also fun to employ the popcorn game to practice sight words!)

Our Junior School artists have been getting creative at weekly meetings of Art Avenue! This co-curricular club for Grades 4-6 recently welcomed two special guests: Anita Ali A. ’30 and Simin, her grandmother. An artist who specializes in floral crafts, Simin taught the club members her method of creating beautiful blooms out of paper and other materials. 🌸🌻🌹

We have two recent Athletes of the Week to recognize – and they have both been in command on the basketball court.

Our U12 Basketball Team recently hosted a mini-meet which packed the Estey Gym with excited athletes and fans. Our first Athlete of the Week, Lucy W. ’32 is a member of that SCS squad. A team leader both on and off the court, this athlete dominates on defence and drives to the net any chance she gets. She plays with determination and hustle, and always steps up to the challenge when up against skilled opponents.

Our second Athlete of the Week is a member of the Junior Basketball Team. Jocelyn R. ’29 is new to the game, but you would never know it when you watch her on the court. This athlete brings an aggressive desire for the ball to every shift and hustles each minute she is on the floor.
