St. Clement’s School (SCS) is currently seeking a Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist (Specialist) to join our team. The Specialist is one of our resident storytellers and photographers. This role is responsible for creating engaging and on-brand content in order to effectively share the stories of SCS utilizing skills in copywriting, photojournalism, videography, graphic design, and editing. The Specialist plays an important role in the planning, development, and execution of SCS’s marketing and communication strategies to ensure they are meaningful, reflect brand values, and connect with audiences across print and digital mediums. Varied, creative strategies will be required as this role must effectively communicate with a number of different audiences, including current families, prospective families, donors, and alums. Working as part of the Advancement Department, the Specialist is a member of the Communications team, which provides marketing and communication support to the full school. The Specialist is responsible for ensuring a consistent look, feel, and voice for our website, social media, e-newsletters, and other communication materials. With both a creative and analytical mindset, the Specialist has a keen eye for detail and a passion for ideating, executing, and tracking engaging social media campaigns and web content.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and execute a unified and engaging digital media action plan for the School;
• Create on-brand video, print, and digital content that reflects the strategic vision and spirit of SCS;
• Manage the School’s digital communications ensuring integration of all communications on site, online, and across multiple social media platforms;
• Seek out content opportunities from the SCS community, and provide strategic input and creative focus for its leverage across platforms;
• Graphic design, such as promotional materials (school events), social media graphics, and branded pieces;
• Manage and maintain the SCS website with ongoing reviews and updates to content, including coding for new page development and corrections;
• Coordinate enews (weekly e-newsletter), Community News (monthly e-newsletter), SCS Connect (alum e-newsletter), and other electronic communications;
• Stay current with what is happening in and around the School and maintain an SCS “Storybank” for use across all communication channels;
• Photography and videography capture for fundraising, school activities, and alum relations;
• Video capture for creation of digital content for use on social media, and other uses  (responsible for concept, design, development, and production);
• Create and execute promotional plans as required across platforms and teams;
• Maintain the Communications team’s content calendar;
• Other related duties as assigned; and
• Occasional evening and weekend work required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES OF OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field; 
• 3 years relevant work experience;
• Experience with website management using a content management system;
• Photography, videography, and digital content creation experience;
• Strong creative writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
• Experience in content creation and growth of social media platforms;
• Capacity to write code and strength with a variety of software and programs including: WordPress, MailChimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Graduway; and capacity to quickly learn and master new programs and platforms.; willingness to learn and adapt to new trends and best practices with an ever-evolving social media mindset;
• Strong awareness of the current digital media landscape, along with the capacity and willingness to seek out emerging trends and tools, in order to evaluate their potential impact on the School and the ways SCS communicates; 
• Willingness to become immersed in daily school life at SCS and proactively seek out story angles and content;
• Ability to handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity;
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
• Resourceful and flexible with strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills; and
• Criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.

St. Clement’s School is currently looking for a qualified Music Teacher to join our School on a contract basis from January 22, 2024, to the end of the 2023-2024 School year. 

The Music Teacher (“Teacher”) is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students. The Teacher is responsible for teaching Upper School (Grades 7-12) Music, including planning, preparing and implementing best practices in the area of teaching Music. The Music Teacher will teach the sequential skills, content, and attitudes necessary to develop a musically literate student body through exposure, education, and enrichment opportunities in Music. The Teacher will also participate actively in staff, department, and professional development meetings and other activities related to school life. The incumbent will also participate in and support LINCWell initiatives and implement best practices to meet the individual needs of our students.  

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan for and teach Music for Upper School students and any additional courses assigned;
• Design and develop unit plans to deliver a curriculum that is challenging, creative, and that creates interdisciplinary connections;
• Support, supervise, and assess students and report on individual student achievement;
• Lead a band at varied levels of competency and instrumentals for school productions;
• Use technology to enhance learning in the classroom;
• Provide and manage a safe, positive learning environment for students to foster independent thinking skills, creative problem solving, and abstract reasoning;
• Support families with open, ongoing communication about student progress;
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and grades;
• Participate in department meetings and Professional Development days;
• Fully participate and engage in the life of the School;
• Organize and/or participate in co-curricular trips and activities, which may fall before and after school hours and on weekends; and
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Honours preferred;
• A Certificate of Qualification and Registration with the OCT required, qualified to teach Intermediate/Senior Instrumental Music;
• Proficient in at least one instrument, with a solid foundation in Music Theory;
• Experience and comfort in providing rich inquiry-based learning opportunities;
• Culturally competent educator with a demonstrated commitment to anti-oppression education;
• Demonstrated ability to use and integrate technology to enhance learning;
• Excellent classroom management, organizational, and planning skills and experience in differentiating instruction;
• Commitment to girls’ education and knowledge of girls’ developmental, educational, and social-emotional needs;
• A record of encouraging, nurturing, and supporting students’ love of learning;
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to work and plan in close collaboration with all constituents including colleagues, parents, and students;
• Commitment to co-curricular activities, coaching, and full participation in school life;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity; and
• Clear criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.
